Under the Pear Tree

This is a story about three girls growing up, in the south in the fifties. The author, Brenda Seabrooke, writes about lots of things I remembered doing when I was a kid.

The girls jumping from the hayloft reminded me of the country cousins we used to visit who had a barn. They showed us how much fun jumping from the hayloft can be.

I tried to get that feeling of flying, and I tried to show how it feels like a looong way down too.
